The Ministry of the Month for December is Heifer International. Since 1944, Heifer International has been working to end hunger and poverty in partnership with the communities they serve in locations across the globe, including the United States.

 

By supporting and training the world’s farmers, ranchers, and female business owners, Heifer International is investing in a new breed of success. Their programs begin with a seed investment of livestock or agriculture, followed by mentorship to help project participants build a business, and ultimately to gain access to supply chains and markets. With this ground-up support, participant families are able to earn a living income and continuously lift up their communities as they train the next generation of leaders.

 

You are invited to support Heifer International in December with a monetary donation, either in the Ministry of the Month basket on Sunday mornings, or by noting “Heifer International” or “Ministry of the Month” on your check or online donation. Look for children’s activity booklets and Giving Calendars (which can be used as AdventCalendars) at the Welcome Center to help you and your family make the most of your participation and donations.

 

In mid-January we will vote on what to select from the Heifer International gift catalog. From a flock of chicks or a hive of honeybees, to a water buffalo or heifer—and everything in between—our dollars will be transformed into life-changing gifts for families and communities in need.
