Community Missions

Better Together – Partnership with the Anoka-Hennepin School District. CUMC actively supports: Dayton Elementary School, Jackson Middle School, Anoka Hennepin Technical High School, and Evergreen Elementary School. Examples of this partnership include:

  • Providing supplies to create and maintain a food shelf for the Special Education department students at Jackson Middle School.

  • CUMC youth group packaged ‘blessing bags’ for Jackson Middle School students to provide healthy snacks over the holiday break.

  • Annual school supply drive to provide all of our partner school students with what they need for a successful school year.

  • Providing hygiene items, warm coats, materials for school projects, and turkey sandwiches for the students at Anoka Hennepin Technical High School.

  • Holiday gift program for Evergreen Elementary families.

Meals on Wheels (IMPACT) – This county run program provides hot meals to individuals who are homebound due to illness or mobility issues. CUMC members deliver meals daily  for a week to individual homes every six weeks.

NISE- A CUMC shared ministry with our interfaith community. Four of its board members attend CUMC. CUMC has also agreed to host all of the NISE events and the board appreciates that CUMC provides financial administration for the organization.  CUMC has been a active sponsor of NISE as the organizations values are in

World Missions

4Kidz – This international program provides packaged meals to those in need. CUMC has an in-house packing event annually and provides meals to both local schools (Sheridan Story) and international recipients

UMCOR- Members of Champlin United Methodist regularly participate in disaster relief and international response through UMCOR, most recently members helped recover a home in Puerto Rico destroyed by the hurricane that hit the area.

Care Teams

Everyone in the church community belongs to a Care Team. It's a fun way to get to know people in a smaller setting. Care Teams take turns providing a yummy snack after church each week, and often socialize in other ways too!
